Sulfuric Acid Feed Skid, made with Alloy 20, Milton Roy Pumps, fully integrated with controls and mechanicals Sulfuric Acid Feed Skid, made with Alloy 20, Milton Roy Pumps, fully integrated with controls and mechanicals S&S Technical designed and built a custom sulfuric acid metering skid for the home insulation manufacturing industry. This skid is used to pump 93% sulfuric acid into two different process lines. S&S Technical engineers designed this unit based on customer requirements. This unit was also constructed larger than originally requested to ensure easier maintenance. To begin the manufacturing process, we first plasma cut all materials to design specifications and then bent all pipes to required form. Though the frame was constructed from stainless steel, the unit's valves and pipes were constructed from alloy 20 material. Therefore, we employed certified welders for alloy 20 welds who used orbital welding equipment to complete this operation. Manufactured based on a customer supplied 2D Auto CAD print, this metering skid was designed as a turnkey unit that would be ready to perform immediately after start-up. The unit possessed 4 diaphragm pumps and a NEMA-4X disconnects control system. After all design and manufacturing operations were complete, we delivered our customer's custom sulfuric acid metering skid to their facility in Atlanta, Georgia.
