When fuel transfer requirements change from one location to another, permanent infrastructure isn’t always the answer. S&S Technical recently completed a custom-engineered, trailer-mounted transloading system designed to move between operating sites and transfer refined fuels from tank trucks to railcars.
Rather than assembling separate pieces of equipment in the field, this system brings pumping, metering, loading arms, grounding, overfill protection and automation together on one transportable platform.

A Complete Truck-to-Rail Solution
The tandem-axle trailer carries the product-transfer equipment, measurement instrumentation and operating controls in a compact, movable arrangement. The engineering drawing identifies 4-inch API couplers at the truck and rail connections, along with two 4-inch loading arm assemblies.

Blackmer 4-inch sliding vane pump with a 20 HP motor, suction drum, process piping and valves.

TRUCK & RAIL CONNECTIONS
Two 4-inch loading arm assemblies and 4-inch API couplers for truck-to-rail transfer.

Load controller, 20 HP variable frequency drive and stainless steel control enclosure.
