PROBLEM: A customer came to us needing a custom-designed skid to dilute 50% caustic down to 27% for storage in a tank farm. Operating on a “batch” basis and a using soft water solution, the customer needed an output of 150gpm.
SOLUTION: S&S Technical designed a skid utilizing Endress+Hauser Group mag meters to measure the incoming caustic and water flow rates. We utilized electric actuated “ON/OFF” valves for shut down. A static mixer was also included to mix the caustic solution, while a V-ball flow control valve modulates the mix percentages. The Endress+Hauser Coriolis meter measures the density and flow rate of the solution on the outlet. This process is under the control of an Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI.
