Truck & Railcar Access Platforms – yes, we make those too! Sometimes customers just need help with access & fall protection solutions for their truck & rail car loading/unloading & sampling needs. To meet those needs S&S has a full range of in house designed and fabricated platforms with and without canopies.
A common unit needed by many of our clients is a single pedestal platform with stair unit. These are designed in varying heights to accommodate tank trucks, hopper trucks, liquid rail cars & hopper cars.
Gangways for access to the tops of the cars and trucks are selected based on the exact application and include self-leveling stairs, flat ramp and telescoping extension unit types. Safety cages for fall protection are provided and size / type also selected based on application. Green brand gangways are selected for their fast lead times, cost and quality.
To make life a bit simpler for our customers, S&S provides standard foundation designs at no extra cost and includes all approval drawings with loads/reactions and pad layout with every job. Standard packages are available in 4-weeks or less.
The example shown in the photos was a recent project where a customer needed four platforms for truck access to replace the overhead trolley systems seen in the pictures being used by the operators to connect to a self-retracting lifeline and climb the trucks for access to the top. This practice was deemed unacceptable and the fixed platforms for access & fall protection was chosen.
